Rampage Soft Top vs. Bestop
#1
I'm looking for any advice and/or suggestions on which of these soft tops is better. THe rampage is nearly 300 dollars cheaper, but that seems to me to suggest that it's not as well made as the Bestop - but then that's not always the case...so here I am asking.

I could not find many photos of the Rampage on a vehicle. There are plenty of photos of the Bestop.

Also, if anyone has a used soft top that would fit my 77, I'd be interested in purchasing it.

Thanks in advance. So glad to have found this Club!

kphan43, welcome to CB4x4. We are glad you found us too. I have an older style Rampage top before it was made with the zip out windows. I purchased it from Wild Horses 4x4 over 10 years ago. At that time it was made by STC. I prefer the Rampage over the Bestop because it has the shorter windshield riser which adds to the EB's cool factor IMHO. :xyxthumbs:

P.S....Check the Tom's Bronco Parts website, they are currently offering the new Rampage Black Diamond Soft Top for $599 + $20 shipping (lower 48 states only). It is made from heavy duty marine grade vinyl denim which is supposedly 3 times stronger than the previous Rampage tops. This is the top I intend to buy when I replace mine.

welcome, rampage should be the same as kayline and stc and some others that might have been bought out before then. best top is a good top...i personally dont care for them as they tend to stick way up in the center bow. the rampage looks more traditional...but thats just my opinion. also...the best top soft doors work with all the other tops (ie. rampage, kayline, stc, etc) so that shouldnt be a reason to stick with best top if it were a concern,Chuck

kphan23, It has been a heated debate for some time. Especially on Classic Broncos website. If you will pick up a Toms bronco graveyard book you can see both tops. I personally like BesTop, but will cost a few hundred more. Rampage is attractive mainly for the price, but you get what you pay for. I personally like BC's sft top but i will need my sister's kidney and another tour in the sandpit to purchase it.

I have attached a link that includes all three soft tops that you may be interested in. Its a good unbiased thread. http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthr...p?t=180621

I agree with Berg. Every time I see a BesTop it always looks like a fine suit. It looks and fits nice and tight. Having removeable side windows is a bonus. My old Kayline looked like a BesTop BUT!!! the sides just rolled up. Down side is only one color choice to choose from. But you can also get full-size doors for an extra $400 big ones. All together (top and doors) its close to $1,100 (sometimes you can get free shipping).

The Rampage/ Fast Track/ Easy Track tops that I have seen all looked squashed, basically not fitting tight. Maybe the ones I saw were just too brand new. The side usually come out in these too. The only positive that I have seen from these two tops is the color choices, black or white. These usually run arounf $500.

If I got one of the $500 top I would run it only during the warmer months and safely store it away during colder months and put on my hard top. I can also lay the entire top down and be topless, I would not be able to go topless with a BC Can Bac top.

I have a hard top. I also have another hard top I plan to cut off all three sides and attach it to my roll cage (basically be a hard safari type top). My goal is to have the BC Can Bac once I sell a bunch of my parts. Sorry so long! Again just my 0.02 cents worth.

thanks for all the advice and tips. days like today (78 and sunny in Charleston) make me forget why i need a top at all. but then i just have to remind myself of the time i was caught in a summer afternoon squall about twenty miles from cover.
