I am looking to install a kick down cable in my '68. I have a 302 out of a '87 F-150, Holley 600 carb, and the C4 came out of a '75. Can anyone help me out on what cable, brackets ,etc I will need? Then some tips on install would help install.

It's not a cable but a rod that runs from the kickdown linkage on the carb to a bracket behind the gear selector on the side of the trans. Goes over the back of the intake and follows the bellhousing down to the trans. Your carb needs to be set up for Ford application as not all Holley carbs had the Ford kickdown. Just an e-clip on both ends. Should be a junkyard item. The downside is older cars in junkyards are getting harder to find.

The factory rod set up will be too short to run with a 4V carb. The primaries set further forward than the 2V carb.
Lokar makes a nice affordable braided cable kit that works really well. The set up pulls rather than pushes, so it will work with any style carb.
