URE Fall Run 2012?

broncosbybart Wrote:that info is not correct. do you have a 351W in it? i can't remember. if you do, the early 302 (28 oz) flywheel will work. all 351's are 28oz. The only engines that are 50 oz are the 80's and up 5.0's. sounds like you will be fine.

i've heard good and bad about the BC exhaust. i had a local exhaust shop fab up my 2 into 1 on the racer. They charged about the same price and it is tucked nicely out of the way. I think a normal price on doing some work like that would be $500 though, unless you can find a deal w/someone reputable.

yeah, i found that too... i just need to verify that the flywheel thats in it right now is a 28oz flywheel... i dont know what it is... and i think i gotta take it out to verify... sux... unless someone has a trick...

no tricks that i know of, but if it came off of the stock 302, it'd be 28 oz.

i remember JP claiming his motor was a roller 302, however the guy that bought it said it was not! so it should be a 28oz...hope that helps

Hmmm??? think i should jsut leave it together, and hope for the best? I'd kinda like to know for sure, but it soundslike odds are its a 28oz... is there a specific way to clock it on the crankshaft when installing, cuz if so i know i ddint do that, and would need to take it apart anyway... I know im starting to sound like a real amatuer, but this is no kidding the first motor/tranny conversion i've ever done... prolly stuff i shoulda thought about before i put it together, but i guess i got in hurry with it...

If you have a reduction starter just check out the casting number above it on the block. If you have a stock starter remove it and check the casting. Easy peasy pumpkin squeezy.

You can only put the flywheel on one way, so that should be correct. The bolt holes aren't symmetrical. I'd go with it.

and in looms the shadow of doubt...

Screw it, im just gonna take it apart... in July... hopefully i will have this done before the wrenchfest in august... if not then we will just abandon all work that involves fabrication, and get the bolt-ons done...

Thanks for the info, good bad or indifferent it helps make the decision... and gives some insight on how to be sure i get it right the second time...
