Brakes!!!! help needed!!!!!!!!!!

Alright fellas got some serious brake issues. This weekend I installed a powerbrake setup from broncograveyard. I also installed a 77 disc brake setup. Now that I have it all together I am having some serious issues.

I get brake pressure when the booster is not attached to the motor. But when it is I have absolutely zero pedal pressure. I installed all new line on the front end and along with a prop valve. There are no leaks that can be found. But I did not replace the rear lines, which has a old rubber line. Could that be the problem?

I also checked to make sure that the booster was good along with the valve and MC.

I was also told that it is possible to have installed the calipers upside down. Right now my brake lines attach to the caliper on the bottom and the bleeder screw is on the top of the caliper. Don"t see how that is possible, because the calipers have an L and R on them, but does some one have a picture of proper way to install them so I can compare it to mine.

sounds like you might have to adjust that rod between the booster and master cylinder...if it has a tiny screw at the tip of that rod, back it out to extend it. but 1 turn can make a huge difference

Blazinchuck I will try that out tomorrow. The only thing I ask is how do I loss all pedal pressure just when the booster is connected the intake manifold and the engine is running but when it is not attached it builds pressure when I pump the brakes? Also when I was checking the MC I did it when the truck was not running and when the brakes were being pumped there was a steady stream of fluid and after I started the truck the pressure of the fluid out of the MC was a lot higher and so was the volume of fluid. But there was absolutely zero pedal pressure.

Sounds like what chuck said, the adjustment rod could be too far in. I also would make sure the master is the correct one for the 77 calipers.

FYI, if the bleeders are at the top of the calipers, you have them installed correctly.

The Pic's I took suck. But the bleeder is at the top. Did you do a full disk setup or keep drum rear? Did you adjust the read brakes at all. This is supposedly where you get the pedal. I have to tackle a pwr brake set up later on ; so let us know what you find. Sounds as if Chuck has the right idea and from what I hear he's the Man...DWB

Did you pull the bleeder pin on the prop valve when you bled them? Shouldn't cause this though. Air = spongy pedal, not firm pedal. Overly firm pedal tells me you have a mechanical issue like you have maxed out your linkage. Go for the adjustment though this makes no sense why it changes with engine on and does the opposite of what it should.
