What type Power Steering Cooler are you all using?
#1
My power steering has been getting hot and noisy on these hot days. Not sure if I am going in the right direction but I ordered a Hayden 402 5x15 7/8ths transmission cooler to put on it. The stock little one is not getting it done.

What kind of pump are you
Using? If it is the stock Ford pump, it will make noise. The Saginaw swap is a common upgrade

X2 on the Saginaw change. You just got to remove all the air out of lines or it will throw-up all over the place. I went with a derale oil cooler and mounted on front crossmember.

It is a stock Ford pump and is quiet til the temps get above 90 or so and when it does start making noise I can let it cool for 10 or 15 minotes and it'll be quiet for a lil bit. Is the Saginaw a junk yard part or can ya get them at the parts houses?

I managed to pick my current one up from Charles. My last one I had on my 76 came from Scrapman on Classic for $120 delivered. Vendors carry them as well but are more expensive. Junk yards should have them, chk old Cadillacs and Chevy trucks. You will need to get the bracket or brackets depending on your motor, plus the fittings. Keep in mind a dual sagi pump won't fit a single sagi bracket. A dual sagi could run hydroboost in addition to your pwr steering. Charles, chuck or Chuzie can fill in the details I failed to provide.

The Tranny cooler hooked to the Power steering has fixed the problem.
