Glad to hear that Joel !!!

That gasket shoud have been on the outside of the backing plate between the bearings and the wheel mounting surface, but should not cause any issues if left out !!! :xyxthumbs:

I just got my "new" axles installed last night and this morning should be on the road this weekend ... :chili:

he had it between the backing plate and the axle housing. with it like this the bearing would have had to go through it to seat in the housing. I never touched a 9" so I was going by how he said
it went. it would be the inner axle retainer plate gasket

Yeah it's weird. I put it back on where the old ones came off from (that inner axle seal in the picture), but I never thought to check if it would fit over the bearing. I'd still like to know what the purpose of that seal is anyway.

Joel I think that piece was supposed to be on the axle before the bearing was pressed on. Im not sure though.
