3 weeks ago, I noticed the pass rear tire had brake fluid running down the back side of it. figured the wheel cylinder was shot so I replaced both rear cylinders. truck stopped beautifully and quit leaking. yesterday I notice its leaking again. what gives? brand new cylinders. same side that was leaking before is leaking now, at the same rate. im no drum expert, so what am I missing?

maybe the shoes are so worn out that the wheel cylinder is over extending??

You sure it's not an axle seal leak?

no need in replacing them if they look good.

measure the inside of the drum as well, it could be too worn out and too big even for new shoes.

The rear wheel cylinders use little 'extension rods' from each piston to the brake shoes. If one or both of them is missing, the pistons in the cylinder will overextend and leak severely/dangerous. Only other thing I could think of would be drum size. EB's used both 10" and 11" dia drums. Are they mis-matched? Net effect would be the same scenario as well. The 11" drums were narrower, so I think that'd be hard to screw up without noticing.
Let us know what you find.
