That stuff is expensive. I had to use some of the marine grade rubber exhaust hose for a work project once and it was about $25/sqft. My boss was pissed when I bought 6' extra just to be safe. 
I think it is amazing that a fuel filler hose for an 89 is obsolete. There are so many of those rigs out there with that setup. Not even the specialty houses have them?
