Help with AM Radio in Bronco
#1
I am needing help :crying: with the lay out of the AM Radio. I am in need of how the Radio goes in to the dash? I know that the plate goes between the radio and the dash. I am confuse on how the shims on the turn of the station side, where the gear that turn the pointer goes? Mine does not look right. I hope some one can help. If can could some one take pic of the knobs and chrome part off. Thanks

Hey George,
I'm assuming it's the stock radio.
I'll take a look at mine when I get home from work tonight and post up a picture for you.

Here's a easy fix ... cut the hole bigger for a new CD player, slide the installation sleeve in, bend the tabs, and push the CD player in Confusedupergrin:

Just kidding George - I didn't know you were going to use the stock radio though.

NO NO NO:gunshot: I am just putting it in to cover up the hole in the middle. It will probably never be hook up.

Hey George,

OK ... the dial face comes off the radio seperate from the chassis.
In the blurry pic (sorry) there are 2 screws to the outside of the knob pins.
These screws go through the dial face and into the plate that says top and front in the second pic.

The radio chassis is held in by nuts on the knob pins and one screw in the bottom of the dash.

You can see in the third pic the stock holes in the dash. If you have a big old hole in your dash it looks like you are going to have to get creative to mount yor dial face unless you have the plate in the second pic.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Bill

Yep ... I took it apart just for you!
It's one of the few items on my bronco that I have never had off.
I cleaned it up and organized some wires while I was at it.

I am headed to the bronco show in TN on Friday night. Taking the wife and kids with me. Hope to see you there!
