Oh, you probably need a vented cap. Sorry. Just being a smart a$$. It really shouldn't build pressure in the tank, though. You can't be returning as much to the tank as you draw out even with EFI. Some of it gets used and therefore not available for return. If anything you should be creating a vacuum. In either case you need a vent somewhere in the system.
Hope my ignorance sheds some light.

Heat and sloshing of fuel releases vapors that build up the pressure. I had a '66 Fairlane once that built pressure like that in the summer time. Never had any trouble in the winter. Dirt dobbers had built a nest in the metal vent tube.

I will try the vented cap first since it will be less expensive than a canister and see what happens. Thx.

Chuzie-I had the same problem with pressure building in my tank. I have and EFI set up with an older high capacity tank that has an extra vent line that was capped off. I extended this vent line so it would tuck up in my rear quarter (above my tank) and put a one-way check valve at the end of the line to let the pressure out of my tank. works, but I'd be interested in a vented gas cap.......anybody know who sells them?

Gotcha. I capped off the third port too. I am just concerned that I could potentially vent fuel through that line since I think it was designed for a charcoal canister.

Maybe I bought a vented cap the other day? It is identical to the one WH is selling. Maybe that is why is was letting the fuel drip out from the cap instead of blowing a line in the tank?
