The 435 will bolt in place of the stock 3 spd. Some modifications may be needed. Realy depends on what its out of. But overall it should work.

Thx Matt,
Would the bellhousing from a three speed work for a NP435 4-spd?

as long as the tranny has a square bolt battern rather than the trapezoid pattern
If you can't fix it with a hammer and a welder then your gonna need a new one!

The owner tells me the tranny is from a Ford F-250 2wd. Does not have bellhousing or linkages. 10 spline in front, 28 spline in rear. He said his 3 speed bellhousing doesn't fit the NP435.

if the np435 has the square bolt pattern then it should be the same as the stock

I'm going to look at it this weekend, will let you know. Such a good deal it is hard to pass up even if I don't have all the parts. I may just sit on it for a while.

the 3sp bellhousing should work, and what Asiel said(square bolt pattern-not trapezoid)this pattern is the tail shaft side.

you still need an adapter 1" thick. AA makes a intermediate housing(goes between tranny and T-case) that had the 1" adapter built into the intermediate housing(very pricey though) when i did mine i looked around and bought one (1" adapter) from ebay...bout $100

1" adapter with a 6cyl housing(this makes it a simple swap) no need to move cross member
