Its too far off for me to tell yet if I can make it or not. Also depends on if I'm stil in the middle of a body/frame swap. But I am interested, I will say that setting something up like this does take a bunch of planning. Setting up campgrounds in advance, routs, park permits, volunteers to help should any problems occure (face it when off roading they will occure!). It realy reminds me of setting up for a baja race. Lots of prep time, spare parts, even pre running areas to be sure all rigs that attend can make the trails.
Regardless of how many people go it will take a support network in reserves, unless you have a large check book should something happen (Like blowing your rear axle coming home from URE). Lets face it a tow truck home from Tenn would brake your check book.
As for spares, Mike you said it. Each person must know what there ride needs. What works in my eb wont work in yours (I.E. couger rear end, chevy disk up front, ect).
The other factor will be the cost of the gas, Lets face it if you get 15mpg your doing good. At an avarage of $4.00 a gallon you could rack up a grand in just gas (in just a few days let alone a week), not including campgrounds, food and repairs (ever tear a side wall out on a 33" tire?). So the importent part is to put as many of these place close together as possible. Even if you could start with some larger spots(URE,GULTCHES,Coal CReek) and then some smaller places on the way. Find out from some locals of smaller spots to see on the way, use Rick Pe'we's mottow of dirt every day. Use a map book to find dirt roads between the places you want too wheel. Possibly ending up at a schedualed event. (super celibration, ect)
Just some food for thought.

Ya know, that is a great idea, to have the 'finale' at the super celebration up in TN. It is kinda boring, but I bet we'd have a good time even amongst ourselves with stories and the like. We could roll in with a few muddy and beaten rigs amongst the sea of shiny show ones. That'd be super cool, IMHO.
I can't make anything this year, but could be interested for next year. The only thing I'd say is that I would prefer to stay on easier trails to minumize the chances of breakage and to maximize the number of trails hit. Anyone who breaks because of driver error, running out of gas, or pansys out and goes home early has to put $100 into a pot that the others split up at the end
So, I'm officially on the fence for about this time next year. Most of it revolves around work. I 'should' have a rig to drive by then...
Chuzie, you can add a tarp and drain bucket to your list of tools. I usually bring them with me to an event or race, but sometimes didn't and wish I had.
Oh, another thought- if we did the super cel we could get there on a thursday night, wheel at windrock on Fri, and come back for the show Sat. Way cooler than driving around on the streets. I bet plenty of people would consider going to the super cel if a wheeling event was offered like it used to be years ago. Maybe even have Duff's get involved with it and coordinate groups or something? I bet they'd be all about it.

Below is my parts list I typically take to events. Attached is my expanded list to encompass everything from rig to campsite. Just food for thought. It all adds up really fast. For this type of event, I will definitely add to the parts list so check back for updates denoted by an ***

I like the idea of ending at the SC, another addition to the idea is to roll straight from the Meet n Greet and have a week long adventure ending in TN. Although I don't think I will have a capable rig for the obstacles that I think we would encounter, I would not be opposed to driving the whole thing in my Bronco pulling a trailer with supplies, parts, etc.

Well Doug, I like every post you've had except for this one. Cowboy up and get you some ARB's!! Tell the wife that you simply don't have any other choice!
Nice list chuzie. Looks good to me, except panty hose for Doug.

same place. i'd love to go back there. we raced on a side of the park where no trails exist. ecors cut their own stuff and it sucked. From what Suzy was saying, there are TONS of trails out there.
here are a list of trails/websites from the link I posted earlier:

Hah, unless you can poop out $3k worth of parts that you can give me for free, I'll keep my happy marriage thanks. The "cheap" EFI engine swap last year is still an occasional topic of debate when talking about the Bronco. And for the record I usually go commando.:thefinger:
