FYI- Campground has only 2 standard electric sites and 1 tent electric site left. Things are filling up fast. If you plan on attending, I strongly suggest you make your reservation ASAP.

I was looking and that date is the same date as the URE Veteran's ride and CNC's Fall bash which is shy they are running out of spots so early. The trails will probably be fairly full as well.

I have a tent site with electric. If they allow it and there is room someone can pitch their tent on my site.

Go figure. You know, each year we are very diligent about researching dates to make sure we are not in conflict with another event. Nevertheless, something always seems to come up.
No biggie, we will work around it just as we always do. You all know how patient I am on the trails, especially when we are stopped for long periods of time waiting for others!!! Sharing sites has never been something the FS seemed to care about in the past. That being said, Janet is gone and I have yet to interact with her replacement. Either way, I would say it is okay.

Maybe they wait until we schedule our and jump on the same weekend.
As far as I know there hasn't been a replacement for Janet yet. One of the vols from another camp area takes care of sinage, etc. but does not reside there, so I think as long as we aren't stupid about it, we can treat the campground as we always have and double up where needed. That being said, my site has a fairly long driveway for a couple of extra vehicles, and will have an empty tent pad it someone needs it. Nick

I saw the thread on NC4x4 for the veterans ride and was going to check when it corresponded/conflicted with ours. Guess I have my answer..
Things will be busy out there that weekend! Get a camping site if you haven't already!!

I will certainly be asking bart or nick to work with those guys to deconflict when planning for next year.

Cause it all revolves around CB4x4!
As Nick said, they don't have a camp ground host at the moment. They might by Nov, but who knows. It sounds like it is a volunteer position, so if anyone has a bunch of free time to sit in a trailer down by the river, they have the perfect position for you. I bumped the thread on classic, adding info on the campsite situation. |
