Fuel Tank
#1
All,

Looking to get a new 23 gallon tank... However, I can't get past paying 499 + 170 in shipping. I'd much rather pay someone locally to build a Fuel tank. Any options near the CLT area?

Thanks,
Tae

I'm with you on that. BC and WH sell the same tank. It's nice that it adjusts up and down depending one which body lift you may have. I had a BC tank and loved it. I traded it to wepucket bc I didn't want it sitting around collecting dust for a few years.

I pondered the idea of building a SS one. I don't need a 23 gallon tank as I don't do long trips or plan to drive it daily. I can TIG weld fairly well so I know I can build one, but its the fuel pump and the arm that has me from building it. I'd like to build a 16-18 gallon tank that's a lil less noticeable from behind (23 gal is a big girl that sits low for its size). I like SS over mild steel. It won't rust from the inside resulting from all the ethanol used in today's fuel.

If you find a guy who builds them let me know. Especially if he can build one out of SS and in a smaller version. Good luck!

23 gals don't come forsale often every once in a while I see them on Classic, your best bet is if your planning to go to Super Cel next month either watch for one there or call BC and see if they will deliver it to Super Cel and save on shipping. As of right now I plan on going so if anyone is planning on making it up there let me know we can link up.

There was a thread on classic last year about someone making custom tanks. Not sure if the pricing was any better or not. May be worth a search.

There was a group buy on Classic Broncos maybee a year or so ago. The tanks were 18 gallons and cost varied depending on options like efi ready and skid plates. The tanks were made by Aero which is on the left coast somewhere. I ended getting two with skid plates for around $700.OO. I haven't mounted them yet but they look pretty good. If there is enough interest here perhaps another group buy could be done. I still need one more tank.

Yep, I got one of the 18 gallons w/skid plate from Aero too in lieu of the 23. Nice piece although many complained of not perfectly straight sides.

Keep me in that loop. Until then I'm going to source out some SS and prolly waste some money.
