2.5" Suspension Lift

I just received my 2.5" suspension lift from Tom's Bronco Parts (I used my 5% discount from Carolina Bronco-thanks!). Reading through the instructions it says that the rear driveshaft must be lengthened on any lift 2.5" - 5.5". In my research on the lift I did not figure on needing to do this. Does anyone have experience with this? Any input is appreciated.

There used to be a place called Joint & Clutch on Atonda Ave. They can do that for you.

The lift is now installed minus the track bar bushings. I went to change them out yesterday - I got the nuts off of both of the bolts, but I can't get the big bolt out of either end. Is there a trick to getting them out?

BFH if that don't work I have used a torch to burn out the old bushings. Good luck.

Jim you should not have to do aanything to the drive shaft for anything less than 3.5 inches. I have a 3.5 on mine and the directions said nothing about that.

Thanks for the info guys. My frustration level over the weekend was really high....everything I worked on the bronco was not cooperating. Add in the 100 degree heat and I just had to walk away.

With the 2.5 lift you shouldent have too much problem with the yoke pulling off the splines. It has happend to me with my 3.5 lift, so I up graded. You should be fine.

Perfect. Thanks for the input. Now I need to get a bigger hammer to try to get out the track bar bolts so I can change out the bushings. Here is a pic with the lift on....new tires are coming next when the funds are available.
