The budget build
#71
Going with a blue, sort of. I have 3/4 of a gallon of blue, purple, 1/2 a gallon of green. I have tested a mixture of the three and it comes out a dark blue metalic. All of the paint is left over from the last painting projects. The hard top is going to be a gray hammerite paint (again, left overs). Hoping to paint next sunday.

Well I started on the painting today. Did the inside and edgeing. Still having a hard time with the HVLP guns, just too used to my ciphen gun. The 3 colors came out a very dark blue. Dash didnt come out as good as I wanted, may splash another coat on it when I do the out side. Decide to do the hard top the same color so I need to get that ready too. Will be painting the rest monday I hope.

Got it painted, ran it on the left side. Color is very dark blue, may put a gun metal gray strip on it.

Ok, since i ran the left side some I decided to put a stripe down the side. Its close to what you could get back then. It lifted on the right side in one spot so I resanded it and will hit it again tommorow.
Got the bedliner in today. Will roll it on thurs, going with a brown. Also going to paint the door pannels, dash, visors and headliner the same brown. The seats are already brown. Still need to build my center consol.
The bull bar and bumpers will be a hammerite that is close to the gray stripe.

So you went to all the trouble of preparing the body to shoot that super clean line and didn't bother to throw some newspaper in the wheel wells to protect the springs, shocks, brakes, etc? Just bustin your chops man. I think you did a great job. Care to paint mine too?
