ECORS Class A race rig build
Looks good in the pics. There are some imperfections- it is a trail truck. I did manage to make the paint run in 2 spots as well. Oh well...

While waiting for the white to dry I fabbed up some quick release fire extingusher brackets. I took lots of pics and will put a write up on here for them, if anyone wants to do a DIY project. Otherwise, feel free to contact me on how I made them.

I had to make a total of 2 brackets for 2 fire extinguishers. The rules state that there must be 1 on each side of the vehicle, in case it is rolled on it's side or one is inaccessible due to terrain.

Next was on to the poppy red. I didn't give the white enough time to dry (I lack some patience), and the newspaper stuck to the white in several spots... I guess I am going to let it dry thoroughly and try to wet the paper and buff it off. Should work (I hope)... I could always cover it up with sponsor lettering, but need some sponsors first Smile

If you can't fix it with a hammer and a welder then your gonna need a new one!

I have to finish the grille. I figured I'd let it dry overnight (learned my lesson on that), and shoot the silver for the middle section tomorrow. Then I can bolt the nose on in entirety! It looks really dumb with those KC lights and nothing else around them.

I painted the leading edge of the hood with the red as well. I need to find a place that sells vinyl for sticker material. I should be able to get some good pics of it tomorrow all assembled and painted up. It isn't done yet, but is getting closer by the day!!

you got that in while I was posting. Thanks man! I will put some pics up once it is fully painted. Should look a lot better then. It is hard to get the full effect, sitting half in the garage like it was...

I am wanting some plain white. I want to make 3 white circles to use as a back drop for some numbers, like this:

http://www.bajabronco.com/RedRacer.shtml

It is on slide 17 of the slide show. That truck was #56 like mine is. I want to do 1 circle on each fender and one on the hood scoop. I would think 2 that were 1' square and 1 that is 16" would be sufficient. I have no idea how they sell that stuff. I was thinking about painting it, but it would be a bear to mask a nice circle.

those graffix places will normally cut them out for you and could also put the numbers inside the circle for you then all you would have to do is put the circle on. how large would you want the numbers?

I'm thinking between 6 to 8 inches for the font on the numbers. Kinda got the old school theme in mind. I'd love to get the bubbly Bronco logo made across the lower portion of the windshield area, and put it on some flat aluminum sheet that I have...

Paint is done. It drives, but still needs a lot of little stuff and a few big things (driveshafts and exhaust). I hope to get the exhaust done tomorrow. Right now I have a stock front shaft in it just to move it around. Waiting on the driveshaft guy. I let it sit for about 45 minutes today. It stayed right at 180 at idle. I hope it stays cool when it is being used. I didn't even have to turn the pusher fan on. Keeping the fingers crossed. Here are some pics of it now.
