Steering box help
#11
I always hate when I can't get a problem to repeat itself.

I believe this is a popular option for a conversion setup if you can't find a stock 4-turn replacement.

Do you have any vertical play in your pitman arm?

Did you mean Clay, or the actual nut at the top of the steering column directly underneath the steering wheel?

One way is proper Tech, the other is funay.

Is anything I do 'proper tech'?

That is a diagnosis my dad gave to me years ago. Just passing his wisdom along.

The nut got the problem to reoccur. No play in the box I'm gonna take it the box off. And start looking for replacements.

For what you do I suggest the 4x4x2 conversion. A couple of people sell them on CB. West Coast I believe sells them. I believe it's a stronger box than a factory four or six turn box. Don't know if ur interested in going hydro. I have an old 70s Ford f100 2wd PS box. It's the long version. If interested let me know, will separate cheap.
