This was right before the speedliner on the outside. Many many hours of prep work since the whole body had surface rust.

Then the new tires makes a difference in the look for sure

This was shortly after new body paint

Same time as above little different look

Then a quick reminder of where I started

To be continued :toothy12:

We took the wiring harness and laid it out on the living room floor and organized it, tie strapped it and then to the shop where we laid it in the truck and the "FUN" began.

My buddy Eric handled the underdash stuff while I wired the motor compartment and all the brake lights turn signals ect.

This was the day we ran the motor awhile and shoke down the wiring. Really did well on the wiring just a couple ground issues but all and all it was tight.

Then it was time to come home. I did 80% of my restoration in Summerville at my buddy Eric's (ASE master mechanic) its nice to have friends in low places.
get it? low places...low country :hysterical:

So we got to loading it up.
Right after this picture my old rad blew a nice size hole and sprayed coolant all over my buddy...:hysterical::hysterical:

Thats all for now

TO BE CONTINUED....

Then I had to get a new radiator. I pulled no punches here I think I got the best I could.

But today I will pull my mechanical fan and put a 16" electric fan. This all based on this picture.

This made me sick on my stomach. Not only for Chuck 2 days before M&G 08' but for me wanting to do these things and thinking of having to replace my $700 radiator.

How do you like the speedliner on the outside compared to a regular paint job as far as look and durability? Do you worry at all about damage or scratches? What about the weight difference? Do you mind telling me what your ballpark cost was to do it and was it inside and out?

Thx.

I love the look...durabilty, we will find out...maybe when you get back we will go test it some more...not worried about damage to the body or scrathces...weight, don't know...don't think it makes that much difference. the bed had the usual cancer not too bad but he grinded and sanded and then glassed the bad spots before spraying it $600 and then I got the body ready and primed, sanded all surface rust prime with a clear rust prevent and then primed with flat black rustoleum app $100 for the rattle cans and sand paper ect.... then he sprayed the body which I had all apart for $300 so all together $1000 and about 40 hours of my labor.

just get a radiator guard...I dont think electric fans will cool as efficiently as the mech. fan.
