EFI wiring harnesses

hadn't seen the kolibar site. looks like a great idea. i don't have any issues with reusing a stock harness. it takes a good long while before wiring goes bad.

I have not seen the re-build option before, but then again I've never had a full harness to start with. I will need one in the next year or so to convert Jessica's bronco to EFI but I have some time to wait and see if RJM rebounds.

I just got off the phone with Rick at Kolibar. I had a few questions for him. He said that the he tests everything and he assured me that it will work. he also said that "it will not look as good as a RJM harness but if your not building a show truck why bother". I have to agree. My Bronco is not a show truck and never will be. His price is $280 for the service and the turn around time is 2 weeks. I'm going home today and packaging it up. I may even send it express.upergrin:

I have re-worked a few of the original Mustang harnesses including the one for Charles. I Eliminated unnecessary wires and added the extra relays and plugs like RJM does. And re-wrapped the whole harness to fit into an EB.

It is pretty time consuming and tedious. I suppose doing them on a regular basis it would get easier, but I probably don't have the paitents to do it day in day out, so I don't see starting a wiring business.

The wires used in OEM harnesses is top quality stuff. I wouldn't hesitate having an original re-worked. You can do it yourself for about $50-60 for the new wire wrap, relays and some weather pack plugs. Ryan used to sell a kit (and may still) with all the stuff you need to re-work one. Just get a couple of good wiring diagrams figure out the layout and take your time and it's not too bad. The hardest part is cutting the first wire.

I had been asked about how to wire up ac with the stock 5.0 and how to increse rpm for use with a winch or welding. I have included some diagrams that show the factory ecm connector and what they go to.
Pin 10 is for the ac, it should be run threw a switch and a relay. The pressure swich could be omited but I wouldent recomend it.
Pin 21 is for idle speed control, if it is put thew a switch to pin 37 it could be toggled on to connect the circuit, this would increase the rpm as if the ps rack were at full lock and require a boost in rpm. This would utilze the iacv.
I have included the diagrams for the mustang and the crown vic, I do have other diagrams depending on what people need. Hope this helps.
