Winch Reviews/Opinions
#11
i have used the smittybuilt with good success. As mentioned, they are just slower. I would buy a used Warn if you ran across them, but no way would i spend money on a new one. The new ones arent near the quality of the older Warns. About the same as the cheaper chinese winches really.

Nice, even has a 3 year warranty.

Sounds like a good price. I had their 8000 lb winch on one rig. It was slow but worked fine. If you keep it outside, the winch controller plug connector can corrode and cause contact issues. Otherwise, no complaints

The Smittybilt XRC 9500 lb winch arrived today. Hopefully the weather is going to ease up some so I can get started on the bumper and get it put on.

I have a smittybilt xrc8 and it works fine for what I use it for. I was going to say spend the extra few dollars and get the waterproof one, bu it looks like you already did. Think im gonna put the xrc8 on my Toyota pickup project and get the same one you got for my bronco.

Shes a wincher now. I got the bumper mount finished today and painted it. After a couple of hours drying time I mounted the winch and wired it up. Loaded the rope and pulled it off and rewound it pulling a S 10 pickup in neutral to provide some tension I am thinking amybe i should do this again but the next time put the S 10 on a small hill so that it will be a little more load. If anyone has a good used snatch block they would like to sell let me know. I have been thinking of buying a recovery kit. Any ideas on which one to buy? Thanks for reading this far.
