January 2017 URE Workday
#1
Who is up for doing trail work this year? I assume some of you are interested in this for another year. Please post up if you are and plan to make it out in a few weeks.

Here is the email I got from Terry:

Hi Everyone – I wanted to send out the message about the January 28th Work Day. We’ll meet at 9 am at the Uwharrie Hunt Camp. We’ll work on armoring several wet areas on the trails with rock from Cotton Place TH, Dutch John TH and from sources on the trail. We’ll also put up some short sections of guardrail or the old log barricades up. If you have a trail trailer, pickup truck or other vehicle that can be used to haul rip-rap, large gravel, posts and guardrail please bring it that weekend. Also, if you’re chainsaw certified please bring your PPE and saw, etc. because we might not get out to the trails before then and with the storm this weekend we might have some trees come down on the trails.

Also, I’ve attached the 2017 Trail Adoption and Volunteer Forms for the OHV Trails. So far I have gotten the following clubs forms back – Mud N Blood, Sheepdogs, Triad Jeep Club & CROC (partially – see below). If you are still willing to adopt a trail this year please fill out the attached forms, sign them, and send them back to me and include a roster of your club. You can just include the folks that do volunteering work here on the Uwharrie on the roster. Thanks a lot everyone. I’m looking forward to seeing you all in a couple of weeks.

Ok. Thanks for all the replies fellas. Let's plan on Feb then. I need to get a game plan together for a tow rig or driving back and forth anyway. Got tired of paying the weighted truck tag fees

Are you guys still adopting the dutch john trail?

My local wheeling group, well at least some of us have talked about getting up to the workday in March. Our group like so many other groups isn't as active as in years past, but we do have a good group of core guys who want to contribute to the work days and trail upkeep. Are you guys perhaps interested in doing some co-operative stuff?
