Nothing like doing it your self. Gears are not all that hard, they do reqire some special tools. The only concern is if you dont get it right it will wear in wrong and always be noisy and run hot. Just follow a good manual, and take your time. Always better to have built your ride your self, so if it should break you know how to fix it.

Allright...got back from training tonight and my offroad kit was hear for my carb. I took the top off my carb cleaned it very good and then started the upgrade. I removed the floats and then removed the old needles and seats. The new needles had a hole in the bottom where I inserted the springs and another part that the floats will sit on. The original needles had no spring in the top it only had a nipple, that was different than the new offroad needle which had a spring and then the "nipple" part sits on the spring and then the float sat on that. So the float actually has a springing motion and the normal motion from the needle moving inside the seat. Then had to readjust the float levels which were at 7/16 before. They were very different after installing the the new ones, the new setting needed to be 7/16 also but took some adjustment. Does that make any since? I will start it tommorow and hope and pray I am not a retard. I felt like the whole thing went very well just did'nt want to start my Bronco so late in my conservative neighborhood. I will update tommorow.

Allright got it to idle but a little high for me about 900-1000. If I turn it down any it wants to cut off. I also adjusted the timing so that helped...pulled a couple plugs after letting it run a while and they looked clean...maybe a little lean so I still need some fine tuning. Still seems to be a little rough at idle still. Toke it for a short run and seems to be hittin really good. :xyxthumbs:

Maybe Mr. Matt can help me fine tune it tommorow night. :notworthy:

I am afraid I might have to go back in there and put the little screens on the top of the seats like the original ones had but the directions on the offroad kit did not have them in the picture. Almost seems to me I might have picked up a little trash in there causing it not to idle right. Hell I don't have a clue Confusedcratchhe: what am I thinking trying this,Confusedlap: but the best way to learn sometimes is "learning the hard way" come on' :banghead:

John, Sorry...wish I could offer up some good advice to adjust that carb... I only know a little bit about oily fuel at slightly higher pressures...Keep us posted.
