Turn up the stereo!! On the other hand the rocker nuts should bottom on the studs. Pushrod length may be wrong if that doesn't take all the play out. You can work each one individually by loosening it while the engine is running and then run it back down to the right position. The bolt holes in a 351W head are larger than the bolts for a 302 also. You should have bolt sleeves or have retapped the block for larger bolts. That won't affect the lash but could affect head to block alignment.
74 Bronco Ranger halfcab w/toys: lockers f&r, wristed arm, C4, D20, hyd assist steering, 37"MTRs, warm 302. Capability, that's what I'm talkin' bout.

The rocker arms are making noise?
I'm guessing you have hydraulic lifters and good oil pressure should pump them up.
Are you sure you have the correct length push rods for those heads?
With hydraulic lifters you should have no play in your valve train.
I find it unusual that you have noise. Keep an eye on it.
sometimes new motors do funny things until everything finds a happy place.

the nuts are botttoming out on all of them but only 7 of them are tight the rest have about .25 inch play the motor already had the 351 heads and pushrods on it when I got it. so I just assumed they where right. pics are coming.
