Bighorn Build Thread
#1
I'm starting with a 1976 Bronco I bought from a fella in West Virginia. It was in decent mechanical shape with the exception of the very extensive body rot and bodywork hidden by the carpet, padding, and quarter panels. Should have known better but the old guy swore it didn't have any rust issues. Anyway it's a 302/ c4 auto. It has a 2.5" WH lift, new bushings, power steering, dual 70/30 JD shocks at all four corners, 285/75 Procomp MT on 16" rims. It's running 4.56 front & rear.

I found a 1972 Bronco I picked up for cheap over in Georgia. I brought it home and parted out all of the peices except for the body. I plan on rebuilding the body to swap over to the 1976 Bronco after it was completed. The body on the 1972 is rough but doabe.

I built legs that slide into the frame horns of the 72 frame so I could roll the body in and out of the garage. I've cut out and replaced the floor pans, tunnel, and seat platform. I've replaced both inner rockers, kick panels, and front door posts. Since I was removing more metal than keeping, I decided to get it media blasted after I'm finished removing what metal needs to go.

I'm working on the windshield channel and cowl replacement currently.

The windshield channel is welded in and it's starting to come back together. The cowl panels are just sitting in place and will need some work before welding. The JBG passenger cowl will need alot of tweaking to fit. But, All in all, the JBG panels have fit very nicely.

WOW that looks great! Our baby blue bronco took 3 broncos to make 1 - I know what it's like piecing them together. You've done great work on the body - let's see more pictures!
