A lil update after the Christmas Holidays, so here we go. The frame sits in my backyard awaiting further instruction. Meanwhile I have both axles and I began to take the rear apart. It was covered in painted on mud. Both sides were trashed with either rust or grime. The axle shafts came out easy and I cleaned them up. I removed the hog head and it was covered in slimey rust oil so I put it in my new parts cleaner for a few days. After a few days and a few small wire brushes it looks to be ok. I'm not sure if the degreaser will ruin the bearings or not but this hog head will be the one I have rebuilt at a later date. I have another hog head with 4.11s sitting in dry storage. As far as the housing is concerned I plan to add some anti wrap brackets. A lil overkill for what I'm doing but i want it. I bought some coil cups from Migs, he was also the one who made me the rear shackles (first version) and the anti wrap brackets. While he was at it he tabbed me up a track bar riser for my D44. The shackles and coil cups are going to powder coater in the near future. Once I'm done welding on the rear housing it too will be going to the coater after I chk the ends for elongation.
Hope all is doing well these days! Matt
