Removing Aux Tank Straps???

Okay I have removed my auxiliary polly fuel tank from my '77.. I'm left with the (2) tank straps that are attached behind the front drivers side wheel. Other than "cutting" them is there a way to remove without damaging them?
'77 EB, 2.5" SL, 2"BL, Cummins 4bt, C4 w/Art Carr manual Valve Body, 35" BFG KM2s
