Early Bronco Brakes?
#1
Hey ya'll, my wife told me to get my 73 to stop when the brakes are applied. (She don't understand the downshifting thing) Yea I have to let her drive it some, so she will let me spend money on it. She wants it to stop like the 77 we used to have. So that means I'm looking for a conversion kit to power disk brakes. I've been looking at Tom's and Wild Horse's kits, has any of ya'll got any experience with these kits? Or do ya'll know of any other suppliers that have a good, easy brake kit?
Thanks

It has been a while since I converted my drums to discs, but I bought all my pieces local for less than a kit. The kits are convenient, though. There are several good articles on ClassicBroncos.com about converting.

Shannon! Good to hear from ya! How you been? Let me know when you do the conversion and I'll come help!

Matt's offline until later this week (just in time for the M&G), but I'm sure he'll post all the details when he gets back.

Hey JayT, Long time no hear from. This post might be a mute point. The next day after posting this my 1995 F150 blowed the radiator hose off, so I fixed that and now the oil pressure drops like a rock after the truck gets hot. 229,000 miles oil probably leaking by a main bearing. Does anybody need a EFI rebuildable 302 with a decent bodied F150. I'll probably put this on craigslist this weekend for $600 or so. So now I'm down to The 73 Bronco and a car I had to buy when the 4runner gave to the ghost this winter. This means that I don't have enough money to buy another vehicle at this time, I don't want to but I might have to sell my Bronco. See if anyone is interested at the meet and greet this weekend, I guess I'll be at the car lots looking for a new ride. I drove the Bronco to work yesterday and I had to fill up on the way home. I love my Bronco but I can't spend $20 a day for gas. I hate to sell it but I don't see any other way to get another truck till I do. I'm not sure how much to ask for it yet, I got to do some figuring and take some up to date pictures.
Thanks

I went with the F150 Conversion. It worked great! A little work but you learn a lot. Hope it's OK that I post this link.
