A big thanks for Nick H. and Clay for their time this weekend. Nick is going to be working on the wiring harness for the EFI motor. He came all the way down from the High Point area and spent the day working on Sat. This wouldn't be possible without all the help from the CB4x4 community!!!
Got the engine in as well as a makeshift 3 spd and t-case. Waiting on the automatic trans to be done. Clay using some hi tech tape to mark out some preliminary measurements for the traction bar.

A few pics of the almost finished motor mounts. They were tack welded in these pics. They are now fully welded, cleaned, painted, and bolted up!!
Starting to make the traction bar mounts.

Clay cut the mounts out of cardboard and then transferred everything over to metal. Nick did a lot of the cleaning and finishing on them while I ran brake lines.
Here is a pic of the traction bar. It sits kind of low to hopefully protect the drive shaft from oncoming rocks, trees, stumps, and run-over Jeeps...

Today we got the body on it.

The roll cage was just bolted to the tub. With the condition of the tub, it was very sketchy for any kind of real protection. I didn't think it best to race it in the shape it was in, as I would have someone else in the vehicle with me and didn't want to risk anyone's safety. Now we have A LOT of work to do!!! Anyone wanna do some fab work??? Got plenty to do now...
We removed the cage, unbolting it and cutting some of the welds to the floorboard. Then we cut the entire rear section out. Saving weight and making it easier to work on. We will run a firewall in the place where a factory bulkhead would go for a 1/2 cab. This is how it sits now. I think I am going to lower the rear a few inches. The spring perches are just tacked in. Shouldn't be too hard to do.

looking good Charles! Just wanted to say thanks again for letting me borrow the engine stand. Also, where did you source the rod ends/joints for your modified control arms?
