yeah, ever since i sold mine i have wanted another. i guess this will be my new 'stroppe' edition, even if it is just the paint scheme. the popy red cost about 2x as much as the white. i got 2 quarts of the cheapest stuff out there (Omni) and some hardener and still set me back $115. paint is getting rediculous.

the silver for the grille insert is going to be rattle can'd. I found some silver on sale at Lowe's for about $1.75 a can. At least a part of it fit with the overall budget scheme of the truck...

My silver is spray can stuff too and it turned out really nice. I think I got mine at Ace.. it's a metallic really thin spray.

x2! i love the stroppe paint scheme. but if anyone wants the sour apple green paint, its theirs... free... i wont use it...

Now that I have my 'full membership', here are some pics hosted by the site. Hope this works.

I don't know how to put text with the pics, so here is what has been going on.

I cut the gas pedal off. I didn't like it since I don't like going fast. Oh, wait. I fabbed a new one to go in its place Big Grin

Didn't take a pic of the new pedal yet. It is just a flat steel plate like the brake pedal is.

Got the coolant temp sensor installed, accessories bolted up, serpentine belt installed, and a bracket fabbed for the transmission shifter cable.

FYI, if you are doing this pulley swap, the serpentine belt I used came from a 1998 Caddy Eldorado. This is the correct belt if you are NOT running the stock A/C compressor. Belt # should be 060825. I got a Dayco belt, was like $25.

Dash panel is pretty well fabbed up. It was very hard to do without scratching the finish on the aluminum. There are 5 gauges- oil press, eng temp, trans temp, fuel level, and voltage. I will be installing a light for the check engine wire and a light for the voltage gauge, per the wiring harness schematic for the alternator.

The alt should be very easy to wire. There are only 2 small wires on my alt plug. The yellow/white is going to the terminal for the heavy alternator output wire. The green terminal is going to the ignition on circuit. Don't have it done yet- waiting on some parts to come.

Got my ps hose issue straightened out as well. On classic broncos, there is a writeup on doing the Explorer front dress conversion. The hose parts they recommend aren't quite right. The 45 degree fitting was for another style of hose. Found this out after a lot of head scratching- this is my first time using AN style lines.

The 90 degree fitting is right, so I am just going to use 2 and route the pressure hose along next to the reservoir. Will post some pics once the parts are here.

Correct hose number is RUS-632600
90 degree elbow is RUS-620421, and you need 2.

I am trying the metric pump fitting RUS-648060. Will report back on how it does. I am still trying to get a correct fitting for the pressure side of the steering box- just ordered about 4 more in hopes of finding 1 that will work on this box (it is a 4x4x2 conversion box), not the standard EB steering box. The fittings are different between the two boxes. Will let you know what works.

In these pics, this is the incorrect 45 degree fitting.

Ok time for another update.

The shocks are all bolted up. The bumpstops are polyurethane. I have installed limit straps as well to keep the shocks from over extending and getting damaged.
