ECORS Class A race rig build
Are you going to run the first race at the flats? I'd like to come see that if you are.

I'd like to, but I really don't think so. It is coming up fast. The Bronco has sat since the Nov URE run. It has some kind of problem idling when it is cold and has a really bad oil leak somewhere. Hadn't done anything on it and I really need to get some projects done (actual real paying work)...

well, i think we are going to try and make the race at the Flats on March 17. right now we began pulling the engine, removing the front sheet metal, and front bumper. going to have to fab up a front winch bumper, unless anyone has one laying around...

the engine is being removed due to a huge oil leak from the oil pan/rear main seal area. have to see what is going on there.

Heck yea! I was hoping you would make the first race. I figured you would wait until the week before and go 24/7 on it like the temp rig last year.

Well, here are some pics so far. Not bad for starting on it about 7pm last night...

Engine is out. We are beginning to figure out what to do for a winch bumper. Got a couple of thoughts that would work out well, if we have enough time and get a way to CNC plasma some stuff.

Since a winch is required for this year, gotta make a winch mount. Here is the beginning. Cut a few sections of flat plate. Clay and I have a kind of unique plan for it. Plans could change at any moment though...

Time for some more pics. The center section of the bumper is being fabbed from 1/4 and 3/16" steel plate. The ends will be tubed. The plasma and the welder are working nicely (along with the flap disc grinder)...

The engine is out and a new oil pan is on. The pan came from a fox body Mustang. I hope that this one seals up and doesn't leak like the previous pan did.

The engine is back in. It looks like the track bar will clear this pan. I'm not sure about the front axle though. It might contact the pan at full bump. Will have to check that with the springs out. Need to take some more pics. Been working and not picture taking...
