Yep, rust chunks are all over the place! I started tapping each spring with a five pound hammer and chit just kept on falling out. I disassembled them both making each one so I know how they all go back together. Other than the shims, bolts and spray paint I shouldn't have too much money in them when finished. I'll do the same for the coils. I'm not looking for show quality from a used lift.

That looks like work! You might not want to hear my suggestion here, but I'd ditch the rustoleum paint. After doing all that work, I'd really recommend some good paint that won't go to crap in a short amount of time.

I am sold on Southern Polyurethanes epoxy primers and matte black. It isn't cheap but it is quality. I wouldn't bother with powdercoating the frame but would just paint it with that stuff as it is a great product and can be applied yourself and touched up if need be. Just my 2 cents.

Thx for the suggestions Charles. The frame is galvanized at the moment and it has a few bad spots from the galvanizing process. I got a deal for my frame to be powder coated and all those bad spots will be fixed. I was originally going to use the three step KBS system, but that was an all weekend deal with lots a labor involved. Powder coating a galvanized frame is overkill, but my best option when it comes to saving time. Kids are eating up my free time!

I wanted to go cheap on painting the leafs. It was $22 well spent on something that will get beat up regardless what I put on it. Besides, my son liked painting them. It keeps him from using crayons on his bedroom walls.

Finished up about 99% of the rotisserie today, installed my 77 frame into the cradle. As you can see from the pics, the galvanizing process is great if it's cleaned well. I figured the acid cleanse would remove old paint, grime, undercoating and slag. Well it doesn't. So I will have to go back and clean up all the chitty spots with a grinder and sander. I will probably replace the rear shock mounts, they look pitiful to me.

Nice, looking good, can't wait to see it powder coated curious what that looks like. Whats next for you?

I'll build the drivetrain when I get the frame back. I've got most everything to have it rolling. Once I get it close to being done I'll get my tub and put it on the 72 frame and throw it on the beefed-up rotisserie. Working on the tub is going to be the hardest part.
