Her is my predicament! 200 ci 3 speed 4.11 gears. Column shifter needs to be rebuilt and i need new clutch and release bearing so tranny is gonna have to be dropped at some point. Was considering an NP435 and upsize to 33x10.50's. Figured with rhe granny low the engine could pull the jon boat out without having to put in 4low and by going from 31 to 33's i might not wind so tight at highway speeds. Or would yall just fix up the 3 speed and shifter and run the 33's?

Course there is no replacement for displacement! A 435 is great if ur pulling stumps or snatching jeeps out of a hole. But IMO I think it's over kill for pulling a 15 Jon boat. Now you could drop in a simple 302 or better yet an inline 300 to ur three speed. Just some food for thought.

a 435 can be great for a lot of things, but not high speed. if you wanna run a 1:1 top gear with 4.11s better consider 35s not 33s

I like the 435's. You won't use the granny gear much, but it's nice to have
Of course it depends on how much you want to spend as well.

Im gonna go ahead and fix the column shifter for now. Not that expensive anyway. The boys on classic broncs said id regret going to 33's that the ol 6 wouldnt pull em. I know it aint got a pile of ponies but man in high school everyone was runnin 4cyl yotas with 33" thornturds.
