engine taching a bit high?

I think you're right...I have a feeling that the tranny is kicking down to 2nd for some reason...only reason to explain it if he has stock gears

I'm trying to think of any other reasons but I've had to much to drink tonight

1. Are you using your factory tach, or an aftermarket unit? Your factory tach may not be working correctly.
2. Does it sound noticeably higher....even with my dual flowmasters, I can tell a big difference between 2500 and 3300 RPM

Or it could also be the 4-6-8 setting on an aftermarket tach.
