Don't tempt me I think within a week I could have a working jed clampet style bronco as both my engines run or at least that is what I was told.

Hey Jolly, does your sewer lines back up into your house? Yeah mine don't either. Chuz, there are other things to do like fixing home projects, laying crosshairs on a big buck, Clemson going 1-0 on the Coots this yr, and changing diapers!

William, well you may have me there. I bet you will have a running bronco way before I will. It's a slow process that the wife is comfortable with. I'd be signing divorce papers if I had all the broncos you had at your house!

Took some pics the other week, pretty much at a stand-still. Did buy a used 3.5" lift from BroncoMatt. The leafs are rusty but hopefully they will clean up. Frame has not been powdercoated yet.

I want to thank William on the parts I got from him today. The set of doors I got from him was the biggest item left on my parts list. Thx again William and good luck in your build(s)!

I can finally say that I worked on my bronco today! HOT DAMN IT FELT GOOD TOO! I bought some old and rusty rear springs from BroncoMatt about 10 months ago and I finally got around to removing the old hardware off the spring eyes. After lots of delicate cutting and about a half dozen drill bits I finally got it all off. Hope these things are salvageable as I plan to have them sandblasted and some rattle can paint and primer will be just fine. I imagine I could go to a driveline garage and pick up some new hardware as the one pictured are breaking off.
As far as the frame it's still in the same spot it was in two years ago. But thanks to a pretty tax return I can begin sanding down the frame and take down to the powder coater. Updated my membership status too, felt guilty posting anything on my build thread without supporting this site.

Good to see some progress, you can toss all the keeper parts other than the U brackets. The bolts and the tube are nothing special. You can get bolts from the hardwear store and some basic tube. Cut the tube to fit in the brackets. There purpose is to keep the springs together.
The spring bushings can be ordered with new bolts or you can up grade to some grade 8.
The center bolts can also be purchased, if you sand blast the springs then put good rust preventative paint and you should be good to go!

he's exactly right. dont waste your money buying parts form a driveline shop. for the center bolts i have used Metric Cap Screws (allen head bolts) they will have a 12.9 stamped in the head, which is the metric grade marking. 12.9 is about 3 times stronger than grade 8, and the allen head is a perfect hieght and diameter for the locator pin engagement with the axle. I have a chart somewhere ill try to post up later with the strength tolerances for metric grading versus the standard grade 5, 8...

Thanks guys! I was able to remove all the bolts and sleeves from the springs today. They either broke off or I had to cut them off, but I was able to save one to match up at hardware store. I can make some sleeves next time at Drill. Heck I might see if 3/8" copper tubing will work as sleeves. Time to drop these springs off to the sand blaster guy. Finish up with rattle can black. Might as well include the front coils too.

Did some sandblasting over the weekend. Took apart the rear springs and man what a mess. Lots of rust deposits in between each leaf so i felt it was a good idea to sandblast each one, enamal primer and blk paint. I'm ordering the 6 degree shim from WH and it includes new bolts. I will Enamal prime and paint with enamal paint black most everything. I figure it will be simple to touch up down the road when rocks go to do their damage. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Sorry for the sideways view.
