I'm not an expert on ring gear but I have seen this before on a buddys rig.
It was blamed on improper break in. The ring gear got too hot and lost hardness.
After that it's just a matter of time before the tooth face wears away.
That's what makes them look sharp and I can see chips in the picture.
It sounds like you did it right and again, I'm no expert.
I would send those pic's to Randy's and ask them.
I would be interested to see what happened ... keep us posted.
