You all are on the other side of the Country from me but have a great site and some good info. So I have a passenger side axle that is stuck and I mean stuck. It is a 73 that I have had over 25 years so may have never been apart-Not sure-I have beat-pulled- pried-cussed-used a drum for a slide hammer-What do i try next?
Thanks Jack

Had the exact same issue on my rig at URE in November. We spent all night and part of the next day trying to get that sucker out. We tried everything!!!
Anyway, what finally worked was heat, a scissors jack pushing from the back, and a hammer pounding on the axle housing around the bearing. We were at a campsite so not really the most ideal conditions plus we were under a time constraint to get back on the trail.
I would heat it up a little then use plenty of PB Blaster in the bearing area. Then let it sit overnight and try what I mentioned above.
Good luck!

a slide hammer works the best as it pulls from the center out.
