Horn and License Plate Light - Stupid NC State INspection!!!!!
#11
do you have power coming out of the horn relay after you press horn button? you should have a constant 12v to the horn relay but if nothing comes out then the relay is bad. as far as brake lights you should have brake light switch under dash attached to brake pedal. you can make a jumper wire to bypass the switch to see if switch is bad. and do you have auto or manual tranny? for reverse lights?
If you can't fix it with a hammer and a welder then your gonna need a new one!

Final Update - Project Complete (for now.......)

Horn works. Replaced the HORN RELAY, thanx to Auto Zone.

AM LPL fit into the existing hole in the EB Bracket....so no fab work needed and it looks original....if you don't look at it too long.

Thanx for all of the suggestions. Electrical work has never been my forte, but using the multi-meter and getting used to the variables of an EB was well worth the time and effort.

It's just like my Dad used to tell me, "Son...it pays to be well "grounded"" Get it? "Grounded??" More EB humor...sorry again.

See you all in NOV!!

Firefighter2134 - The grounding made all of the difference. The Reverse lights still have me stumped. A while back, I had a trailer plug "installed" by U-Haul....I'm talking over a decade ago. The rear wiring harness was tapped into and I think that is the crux of the problem. More tinkering and yelling, "Hey!!! I'm backing up!!!!" will have to do for now. Thanx again. Brian

It shouldnt need inspection anymore. Once your vehicle is 25 years old or older inspection in nc is no longer required.

Its actuly any vehicle over 35 years. Anything less than 35 or up to 96 will only have to have a saftey inspection.
