You know what, screw this. I am wasting too much time trying to save a couple of bucks. I just dropped $485 on a Yukon Grizzly Locker 31 spline. DONE!

from what ive found, the detroits are a h case or a b case, you will need a b case, if you have the 2.891 bearing on your orginal carrier you can use a 3.062 its just a matter of bearing change, i went thru this with my 66, the 3.250 bearings require a aftermarket center housing, the b case does not require the aftermarket housing only the h case, so you will need a b case with a 3.062 bearing, when you buy your install kit it should tell you which bearings are in the kit
