This is gonna be a long and drawn out build, especially with the wifey preggo again. Guess I spent way too much time in the end room and not enuff time in the garage! I usually don't get much stuff accomplished when college football and hunting season is in. Plus I have another deployment coming up after first of year. That's really the only time I will have money to waste.

Plan is to stick with a build that is mostly stock other than the lift. Will be looking for a 76-77 PS box in the future, plus some doors and factory seats. These items should be easy to find down the road. I know where a NOS windshield is but gotta shmooze the owner. I already have lots of other parts and accessories. The motor will go in last, I know someone with a Mexican 302 that I am begging for! It's gonna e a fun build!

I've got a good running 302 here if you are looking. It is still in the truck. Runs/drives. Planning my long awaited diesel swap

Got a steering box, too.

Charles,
I may be interested in the 302, just need something with good compression that doesn't leak. I'm not real big on HP but I crave some good torque. A good RV cam can give me the help I want. I have a rebuilt c4 that's been sitting for over a decade, its mated up to a D20 from my old 73 bronco. The motor, trans and TC will go in before I put down the tub.

Is your PS box a 76 or 77? My old 76 had an early 70s PS box 6-turn and it was ok, but I want the 3.5 turn box.

Got the frame delivered to my house so I can start my build. Will be doing some work on the frame such as smoothing the sides from all the rust pitting, fill in some unneeded holes, re-weld some areas, strengthen the PS box area, and whatever else you guys think. My plan is to have it galvanized in about three weeks. I have a company in Columbia who will coat it for $100 so I want to hurry up and get it done before they change their minds. I will have to sign a waiver in case the galvanizing process warps the frame. I don't think it will warp considering several guys on Classic Broncos have had it done, including NicksTrix. I've sought out his help and I truly appreciate his expertise. Once galvanized I plan to paint it using the KBS 3 Step Kit for less than $100. I plan to take great care to preserve the VIN stamps.

Not yet. Worked on it some today, still pulling wire wheel shrapnel from my legs and arms. Lots of oil and dirt inside the frame, a bear to get out. Waiting on some consumables to come in so I can do some welding.

Just cleaning most of the scale and easy rust. Then I'd like to sand down some of those booger welds. The first step of the galvanizing process is an acid bath to removed rust and other crap. I figure if I clean it some the process may turn out better.
