So I finished welding up about 1000 holes in the floor of the bed and making and welding in a whole bunch of small patch panels to eliminate all the rust. I figured out after I wire brush stripped the floor of the bed that there were all kinds of little voids that were harboring rust. They left little pox marks all over the floor of the bed. I stripped it as best I could, then cleaned it with prep-all. The I painted the whole thing with this product called Ospho. Worked pretty good. Turned the remainder of the light rust in the voids black iron phosphate. Now I am going to prime it and then paint it with bed liner. I'll put the racket jacket system in after that and install the new carpet I already bought. I took out my transfer case shifter and made a bronze bushing to replace the crappy insert and bushing that was in there.

Be very careful about what you apply over ospho. You might check out hotrodders.com
There is/was a raging debate over it. Keep in mind a lot of those guys are probably over-the-top perfectionists, but it will probably be a good read. Hadn't been on that site in a while. Lots of good info there. They sold me on epoxy primers Keep it up. Looks great!
