My 76 LUBR Build in SC
My dad said its off a f100 4x4. When my dad got it 18-20 years ago it had manual steering. He did the change a year or two after buying it. As much as I want to do the 4x4x2, it's more economical for me to just rebuild the box I already have.

Nice box! Lets say you sold it to me for $150, I'd have to find a donor 4x2 from certain year bronco 2 or Ranger, that's ehhh $25-$40. Got to have the correct fittings for new box, say $10. Can't forget a new lower shaft if I'm lucky, $25-$50. Then the tie rod has to be properly lengthened, $20-$200. Then you got to brace the frame which isn't an issue, just time consuming. It would probably take me months to gather all those items as cheap as I am.

For $140 plus shipping i will be driving my bronco in two weeks. When I sell the 76 down the road I may put back on the manual steering box bc I still have all the parts. I can put the rebuilt box on my "Luber" build.

nah, youre going about it the right way Matt...rebuild your box. i just posted that for reference. and actually you would need a 2wd box from a older f150...i think the selector shaft is needed to make the 4x4 both flip the pitman arm to work right for a EB.glad your will bo on the road sooner!

I failed to mention that the front core support on the new tub buckled in on me today. I was trying to raise it off the 72 frame to find the VIN.

Did I also mention my dad blames his tractor for denting the rear corner!!! "I forgot to tell you that the tractor did it son, it just sorta backed into it!!!!" Gotta love the ole man!

After 14 pages of no "Luber" it has finally started in the wrong direction!

Well my PS box is on its way home from West Texas OR. Had nothing special done to it. What hit me was the $48 in shipping back to SC. But for $212 total I still cant really complain too much.

And i bet they are using the same flatrate box. The rest is likely handling charges. That makes my skin crawl and they are not the only vendor that does that crap.

Today was good and bad. I was able to get the title to the 77 frame in my name today. Should get that in the mail in 10 days. Step one complete, now I tried to find the VIN to the 72 and came up empty. Well sorta.... it just came up a U14 VIN and not the U15 VIN I have the glovebox door and GA title to. I'm a lil pissed but can only blame myself for not checking before I left the PO's house. Now I am stuck with a title with my signature on it and a matching glovebox door. The two DMVs I went to wanted to put eyes on the frame's VIN and not the glovebox door. I feel like I'm b!tching mfor winning the lottery and having to pay taxes on it. I mean, the tub is uncut and it great shape. Not giving up just yet.

Came home from an exhausting day and found my PS box at my door step. Can't say they dont pack the crap out of it. Come to find out its a Saginaw box from an early 70s bronco (not a 76 or 77 box). Tomorrow will be fun!
